As you might know, new requirements for authenticating online payments are planned to be introduced in Europe starting September 14th 2019 as part of the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2). Those new requirements, known as Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) will require additional authentication aiming for safer traveler payments on line.
We are aware that you are receiving communications from OTAs and Payment Gateways in regards to this law, please know that we are working closely with our partners to make sure that our efforts are aligned to meet the regulation’s requirements and offer you the best solutions.While the legal deadline for complying with the PSD2 and the SCA requirements remains September 14th 2019, the payment entities in the UE acknowledge the challenges that stakeholders are facing in meetingthis deadline and the necessity for all players to work together to agree on an acceptable plan to migrate as soon as reasonably possible.
